Prof. Dr. Aziz Bülbül is a Professor at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Basic Sciences, specializing in Veterinary Physiology. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Ankara University's Veterinary Faculty (1991–1997) and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Physiology from Ankara University's Health Sciences Institute (1998–2003).
His research focuses on veterinary physiology, particularly oxidative stress, nitric oxide pathways, and reproductive biology. He explores natural products like propolis, essential oils (e.g., peppermint, myrtle), and trace minerals (zinc, boron) for therapeutic applications in ischemia-reperfusion injury, thyroid disorders, and animal nutrition. Recent work emphasizes organ protection mechanisms using antioxidant compounds.
Prof. Bülbül has supervised numerous doctoral theses, including studies on intestinal motility, ovarian function, and melatonin/kisspeptin interactions. He has led TÜBİTAK-funded projects on ovarian steroids and nitric oxide, alongside university-supported research on natural antioxidants. His lab collaborates extensively on projects involving rat, rabbit, and avian models.
