Azadeh HassaniBafarani is a Lecturer at the University of San Diego and a faculty member at Deakin University's Center for Humanitarian Leadership and the ICRC's Center for Excellence in Humanitarian Negotiation. She serves as Relief International’s Global Humanitarian Director, overseeing global humanitarian responses and emergency preparedness initiatives. With over 15 years of field experience in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, she specializes in disaster response, health interventions, shelter, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and recovery programming in conflict and fragile contexts.
Education: Master’s degree in Global Health.
Key Responsibilities: Leads humanitarian response teams in disasters, manages capacity-building programs for NGOs and UN agencies, and advocates for improved preparedness and DRR strategies. Her work emphasizes learning from field experiences to enhance future interventions.
