Dr. Azadeh Emadi is a Senior Lecturer in Theatre, Film & Television Studies at the University of Glasgow. Her research bridges Eastern/Western philosophies with digital media arts, focusing on cross-cultural approaches to new media, sensory perception, and interdisciplinary pedagogy. She holds a PhD from Auckland University of Technology (2014) and has taught globally, including at Auckland University of Technology (2008-2017).
Her work explores intersections between Persian-Islamic philosophies and contemporary digital arts, with key projects addressing tactile perception (e.g., deafblind communities during COVID-19) and materiality of digital media. Notable exhibitions include 'Touch Screen: Rethinking Perception' (2022) and 'Interactive Harmony' (2020). She leads the Substantial Motion Research Network (2018) exploring motion aesthetics across cultures.
