Ayça Erşen Danyeli is an Associate Professor at Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University, affiliated with the Department of Surgical Sciences, Pathology. She was born in Ankara in 1978 and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. She completed her specialization in Pathology at Dokuz Eylul University in 2009, during which she conducted her thesis on 'Stem Cell Markers in Pilocytic Astrocytomas' at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) with a TUBITAK scholarship. She fulfilled her state service obligation at Tarsus State Hospital Pathology Laboratory (2009-2010) and trained at Mayo Clinic (2010-2011) in neuropathology and molecular pathology. From 2012-2018, she served as Head of the Histopathology Unit at Izmir Biomedicine Genome Center while continuing her role at Dokuz Eylul University as a lecturer and consultant pathologist. She joined Acıbadem University in 2018 and works at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital.
Research Interests
Her research spans neuropathology, neurodegenerative diseases, neuromuscular diseases, and neurooncology. She is particularly focused on the pathogenesis and biomarkers of brain tumors and the development and validation of new molecular pathology tests.

Professional Roles & Contributions
She is a member of the Acıbadem University Brain Tumor Research Group and contributed to the 2012 book DiagnosticPathology-Neuropathology (Amirsys-Elsevier), co-authoring 28 chapters. Her career includes leadership in molecular pathology and extensive collaboration in translational research.
