Ayushi Roy serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, and Deputy Director of the New Practice Lab at New America. Her professional focus centers on building equitable technology solutions for government service delivery to vulnerable populations.
Her educational background includes degrees from Columbia University and MIT, supplemented by conflict mediation certifications. Roy's research interests span digital government implementation, technology modernization in public sectors, and civic engagement frameworks. She has spearheaded initiatives modernizing unemployment insurance systems, enhancing Medicaid/CHIP infrastructure serving 70+ million Americans, and developing public transportation planning tools—all emphasizing equity-centered design.
Roy managed the $1 billion US Technology Modernization Fund and co-authored the nationally adopted Unemployment Insurance playbook during the COVID-19 pandemic. She secured historic approval for Login.gov to serve state/local governments and established Oakland City Hall's first innovation team. As co-founder of We Who Engage, she partners with entities like the City of Boston and Seattle Foundation on civic projects.
