Prof. Dr. Ayselin Yildiz is a faculty member in the International Relations department at Istinye University in Istanbul, where she also serves as Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences. She maintains an affiliation as a scholar with the Migration Research Center at Koç University (MiReKoc). Her academic foundation includes a PhD in International Relations and MSc in European Studies from Middle East Technical University.
Her research focuses extensively on forced displacement and migration studies, with particular emphasis on:
- Migration governance frameworks and policy implementation
- Refugee integration strategies in higher education systems
- EU-Turkey relations in border management and asylum policies
- Urban displacement patterns and socio-spatial transformations
- Artificial intelligence applications in migration governance
Prof. Yildiz's publications demonstrate a consistent focus on migration policy evolution, refugee integration mechanisms, and cross-border governance, with significant contributions analyzing Turkey's role in regional migration management. Her work spans political science, international law, urban studies, and education policy, frequently examining the implementation challenges of migration agreements.
She has held significant leadership roles including:
- Founding Director of the EU Research Center at Yaşar University (2005-2015)
- Founding Head of the UNESCO Chair on International Migration (2016-2023)
- Initiator and Head of International Relations Department at Yasar University
Beyond academia, Prof. Yildiz founded Nefes-Ai, a company developing AI technologies for higher education, and serves on committees including UNESCO Turkey's Management of Social Transformations (MOST) and Migration Group. She also contributes to the Groningen Declaration Network focused on higher education internationalization.
