Ayse Demir

Ayse Demir is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Law, Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management, Roehampton University. Her research focuses on sustainable development, gender equity, clean energy access, and financial inclusion in global contexts. She has led multiple projects addressing economic empowerment in Kenya and volunteer engagement strategies in Merton.

Demir has received awards including a $1500 Cornell symposium grant and recognition for a highly cited article in the European Journal of Development Research. She has organized workshops on SDG awareness in rural Kenya and presented at international conferences like the Asian Meeting of Econometrics Society and Latin American Energy Economics Meeting.

Her recent projects include assessing gender equity initiatives in Kenyan universities (2025), promoting clean energy access through training programs (2023-2024), and analyzing volunteer engagement for sustainable impact (2024).
