Ayse Akincigil

Ayse Akincigil is an Associate Professor at Rutgers University's School of Social Work and serves as a Health Economist at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. Her work focuses on addressing healthcare access disparities and quality issues for vulnerable populations, including the elderly and individuals with mental illness or addiction. She specializes in developing utilization and performance measures from administrative health data to inform policy reforms.

Her research utilizes large datasets from Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans, and national surveys to analyze healthcare systems and improve care delivery. Dr. Akincigil teaches graduate-level courses in research design, measurement, and econometrics.
