Aylin Bademsoy

Aylin Bademsoy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative Literature and Thought at Washington University. She holds an affiliation with the Program in Germanic Languages and Literatures. Her research focuses on 19th- and 20th-century German and Turkish film and literature, exploring intersections of modernization, racialization, and ideological critique. She co-edited a volume on filmmaker Christian Petzold and is completing a book project analyzing modernity, mobility, and antisemitism in German and Turkish cultural discourse.

Her teaching emphasizes global feminist theory and women's literature, with courses examining patriarchal structures, feminist materialisms, and intersections of gender, race, and class.
