Aylin Ahadi is a Professor and Head of Department at the Department of Industrial and Mechanical Sciences, LTH, Faculty of Engineering at Lund University. She also serves as a Manager at Mechanics, Materials and Component Design and holds a Professor position at SPI: Sustainable Production Initiative. Additionally, she works as a Principal Investigator at NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience and a Researcher at eSSENCE: The e-Science Collaboration.
Research Interests: Computational continuum mechanics, Nanomechanics, Material modeling at nano- and macro scale, Molecular dynamics simulations, and Peridynamics. Her work focuses on multiscale material behavior analysis from atomic to meter scales, with special emphasis on nanoindentation effects and crystallographic orientation studies.
Key Research Outputs: Analysis of harmonic structure materials deformation, Study of Ce-doped Y2SiO5 luminescence properties, Investigation of helium effects on tungsten mechanical properties, and Synchrotron X-ray diffraction studies.
Teaching: Basic and advanced courses in Mechanics, Continuum Mechanics, Multibody Dynamics, and Nanomechanics and Multiscale Modeling.
Projects: Swedish Research Council funded project on microstructure in tooling materials (2025-2029), eSSENCE@LU quantum chemistry project (2025-2026), and long-term research on peridynamic modeling of materials (since 2016).
