Aylica Boock is a Researcher and doctoral candidate in the Department of English at the Faculty of Humanities, Leibniz University Hannover. She has served as a research assistant in British and Postcolonial Studies since 2023, teaching comprehensive courses on British literatures and cultures across five centuries.

Research Interests: Boock specializes in Postcolonial Studies and British Literature with deep expertise in Anglophone literary traditions from the 16th to 21st centuries. Her scholarly focus examines Orientalist constructions in crime fiction, Welsh/Scottish/Irish historical narratives, and the socio-political dimensions of drama. She has investigated Nancy Cunard's contributions to Anglophone studies and Agatha Christie's orientalist frameworks in detective fiction.
Teaching Portfolio: Current and upcoming courses include "Twenty-First Century Anglophone Fiction" (SoSe 2025), "British, Scottish and Irish Historical Writing from Walter Scott to Hilary Mantel" (SoSe 2024), and "Welsh, Scottish and Irish Drama of the 20th-Century" (SoSe 2024), demonstrating her commitment to transnational literary perspectives.
Professional Trajectory: Following her 2023 Master's completion, she advanced from Student Assistant (2021-2023) to full Researcher status. Her teaching evolution spans from tutoring "Survey of British Literatures and Cultures" (2022-2023) to developing specialized seminars on literary sociology and criticism.
