Ayaz Qureshi

Ayaz Qureshi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Anthropology at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh. His work bridges anthropology, public health, and development studies, with a focus on Pakistan and South Asia.

Research Interests:

• Ethnography of healthcare systems and HIV/AIDS governance
• Migration, labor, and health
• Bureaucracy and state-society relations
• Environmental displacement and development

• Doctors on the Streets: Explores medical professionals' political mobilization in Pakistan
• Generating Evidence for Migrant Workers: Transnational health impacts of low-income migration

Teaching: Offers courses on anthropology of health, migration, and gender/development, shaping critical perspectives on global crises.
