Amanda Lubit

Dr. Amanda Lubit serves as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow hosted at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, formally affiliated with Dublin City University. Her research critically examines the intersection of migration and disaster anthropology through gendered, racialized, and spatial lenses.

Her scholarship investigates how interconnected crises—pandemics, refugee influxes, economic collapse, and political transitions—disproportionately impact displaced women. Using multimodal ethnography across the island of Ireland, she analyzes coping mechanisms centered on the analytical framework of "care" amid overlapping emergencies including Brexit, the Ukrainian refugee crisis, and housing instability. Her work bridges theoretical anthropology with applied humanitarian practice.
