Ayan Orujov is a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool Management School. He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol (2015), focusing on 'Value of Political Connections in the UK'. Previously, he served as Lecturer in Finance at Bangor Business School.
His research explores Gambling Behavior, Gambling Harm, Financial Economics, and Corporate Governance. Key interests include retail investments, corporate activism, and socio-political influences on financial markets. He has published in journals like Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Banking & Finance.
Recent work examines retail investor responses to social movements (e.g., Black Lives Matter) and gender diversity on corporate boards. He is affiliated with the Sports Business Research Centre at Liverpool.
