Ayako YAMADA is a CNRS researcher at the Department of Chemistry of École Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris, France, since 2017. Her work bridges microfluidics, synthetic biology, and biomimetics, focusing on DNA nanotechnology, cell-free systems, and artificial cell models. She collaborates extensively within institutions like the Institut Curie, IPGG, and Sorbonne University.
- Ph.D. in Physics (Kyoto University, 2005-2008)
- M.Sc. in Physics (Kyoto University, 2003-2005)
- B.Sc. in Science (Kyoto University, 2003)
Her research explores DNA self-assembly, lipid vesicle dynamics, and microfluidic actuation principles. Key projects include 'BrAngioChip' (2019-2023) for tumor invasion studies and 'Single nuclei on chip' (2022-2023) for nuclear organization analysis. Articles highlight DNA origami assembly, lipid domain patterning, and synthetic cell engineering.
- CARNOT Institute IPGG grant (2023-2024)
- ANR JCJC 'BrAngioChip' (2019-2023)
- CNRS MiTi Biomimetism Challenge (2019-2020)
- JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (2008-2009)
- Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (JSPS, 2006-2008)
She contributes to the Baigl Lab at ENS, part of the Pôle NBMS (UMR 8640 PASTEUR), which investigates light/magnetic actuation, DNA nanotechnology, and low-cost diagnostics. The lab is affiliated with Université PSL, Sorbonne University, and CNRS.
