معرفی
Dr. Axel Kohler is a Coordinator at the Otto Creutzfeldt Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, affiliated with the Institute of Psychology at the University of Münster. He previously held an interim professorship in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Osnabrück and has conducted postdoctoral research at institutions including the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research and the University Hospital of Psychiatry in Bern.
Research Interests: Dr. Kohler’s work focuses on motion processing, binocular rivalry, and neural correlates of conscious perception, with an emphasis on how attention and interhemispheric integration influence perception. His studies often employ neuroimaging techniques like fMRI to explore individual differences in multistable perception and cortical dynamics.
Scientific Awards:
- Lienert Scholarship, Vanderbilt University (2005)
Education:
- Ph.D. in Neurocognition, Max Planck Institute for Brain Research & University of Maastricht (2003–2006)
- Diploma in Psychology and Philosophy, University of Tübingen (1996–2002)
- Graduate study in Philosophy, Neuroscience, Psychology, Washington University (2001)
His publications highlight contributions to understanding visual cortex functional connectivity, traveling waves in binocular rivalry, and attentional modulation of fMRI adaptation. Dr. Kohler’s career spans roles in functional brain imaging and cognitive neuroscience research across Europe.
