Prof. Dr. Axel-Cyrille Ngonga Ngomo is a Professor at the University of Paderborn, affiliated with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics and the Institute of Computer Science. He leads the Data Science group at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute and is a member of the Sonderforschungsbereich Transregio 318 (Constructing Explainability). His roles include heading the Informatik Rechnerbetrieb (IRB) team.
- Research Focus: Knowledge graphs, semantic web technologies, explainable AI, and distributed systems.
- Selected Projects: SAIL (Sustainable Life Cycle of Intelligent Sociotechnical Systems), TRR 318 (Constructing Explainability), Colide (Co-training for Industrial Data), 3DFed (Dynamic Data Distribution), and SFB 901 (On-The-Fly Computing).
