Aviel Roshwald

Aviel Roshwald is a Professor of History at Georgetown University's Department of History within the College. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and a B.A. with Honors from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. His research focuses on nationalism, comparative history, and the impact of Axis occupations during World War II, with a particular emphasis on Europe and Asia. Roshwald has authored major works such as Occupied: European and Asian Responses to Axis Conquest, 1937-1945 (2023) and co-edited the two-volume The Cambridge History of Nationhood and Nationalism (2023).
