Aurelian GIUGĂL

Aurelian GIUGĂL is a Lecturer in the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Communication at the University of Bucharest's Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences. He holds a PhD in Political Science (2011), a Master's in European and Romanian Politics (2008), and a Bachelor's in Geography (1998) – all from the University of Bucharest. His editorial work includes contributions to Observator Cultural, Revista Cultura, and Platzforma.

His research explores political geography, post-communist democratization, and electoral behavior, with emphasis on Romanian and European political systems. Key themes include spatial disparities in voting, party politics, and the intersection of communication and governance. His publications predominantly analyze electoral mechanics in post-1989 Romania, using geospatial methods to dissect regional voting patterns and systemic reforms.
