Audrey Taylor is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with her office located in BMH 208. She can be contacted at (907) 786-6854 or via email at artaylor@alaska.edu.
Dr. Taylor's educational background includes:
- B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University
- M.S. in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University
- Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the University of Alaska Fairbanks
Her research centers on wildlife conservation, with a focus on Arctic-breeding shorebird populations. She investigates the effects of climate change and industrial development on shorebirds and their habitats across diverse regions including Central and South America, China, the U.S. Gulf Coast, the Great Basin, and Alaska's North Slope. Dr. Taylor is committed to broad science communication, applying research to real-world conservation, and collaborating with citizen scientists for local data collection. Her field-based work spans multiple taxa including bats, fish, large mammals, and birds.
Teaching responsibilities include ENVI A211, ENVI A211L, and ENVI A490. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, gardening, and fly fishing.
