Attila Tanyi is a Professor at the Department of Philosophy and First Semester Studies at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. His research focuses on moral and political philosophy, ethics, and interdisciplinary studies spanning psychology, economics, and political science. He also explores metaphysics and philosophy of religion. Tanyi collaborates globally with scholars in Germany, the UK, Sweden, Hungary, and the USA.
His work bridges theoretical philosophy with practical applications, addressing issues like public health ethics, institutional consequentialism, and legal entrapment. Notable contributions include frameworks for integrating public well-being systems and analyses of managerial decision-making through phronesis and intuition.
Key research themes include moral demands of ethical theories, the role of institutions in fulfilling consequentialist obligations, and the ethical dimensions of policing and undercover operations. His recent articles explore self-respect in higher education, virtue testing, and the incoherence objection to legal entrapment.
