Atefe Rafiee Tari

Atefe Rafiee Tari is a Research Fellow at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is affiliated with CERG (Center for Elite Sports Research) and focuses on molecular mechanisms of exercise as novel therapies for neurodegeneration and Alzheimer's disease.

Research Interests:
Her work combines human epidemiological studies (e.g., Generation 100 and HUNT studies) with preclinical models to investigate how exercise and fitness influence brain function and dementia progression. Key projects include:

• Transfusions of plasma from trained individuals to Alzheimer's patients (ExPlas clinical trial).
• Injections of blood from healthy, trained rats into Alzheimer's-affected rats to assess disease modulation.

Labs/Teams: Active member of CERG, collaborating on interdisciplinary research into exercise-based interventions for neurological disorders.
