Atefe Rafiee Tari is a Researcher and Group Leader at the Department of Circulation and Imaging within NTNU’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her work focuses on neuroprotective mechanisms of exercise, Alzheimer’s disease interventions, and population-level health outcomes.
Education:
- MSc in Molecular Medicine
- PhD in Medicine (NTNU)
Research Interests:
- Exercise as systemic therapy for neurodegenerative diseases
- Plasma-derived therapies for Alzheimer’s (e.g., ExPlas clinical trial)
- PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) metrics linking fitness to dementia/mortality risks
- Long-term cardiovascular benefits of exercise training
