معرفی
Atal Saha is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Agder, affiliated with the Centre for Coastal Research and the Department of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on population genomics of marine species, particularly in Norwegian coastal waters, combining genomic data with environmental and biological studies. Previously, he conducted postdoctoral research at Stockholm University on salmonid genomics and completed his PhD at the University of Tromsø, studying redfish and saithe populations.
Education:
- PhD in Marine Biology, University of Tromsø (Norway)
- Master’s/PhD Internship, University of Washington (USA)
Research Interests: His work involves applying genomic tools to understand evolutionary processes, population structure, and conservation strategies for aquatic species. Key areas include cryptic speciation, introgression, and local adaptation in marine organisms.
Publications: Recent work includes studies on SNP-based species identification in Sebastes spp., Arctic charr population dynamics, and brown trout reproductive isolation. His research emphasizes genomic approaches to support sustainable management of marine resources.
Grants & Collaborations: Collaborations with institutions like the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research (IMR) and Stockholm University highlight his interdisciplinary approach. His postdoc project integrates bioinformatics and ecological data for coastal species conservation.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the Centre for Coastal Research at UiA, focusing on marine genomic studies.
