Dr. Astrid Schmölzer is a Research Associate at Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg, working on the DFG Urban Research Project Neuenstadt am Kocher. She holds a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Graz (2020) and has held research positions at Graz including the FWF project 'Celtic God Names on Roman Inscriptions.' Her roles include membership in the university's Academic Advisory Board and Convention of Academic Staff.
Her research focuses on:
- Roman provincial archaeology, especially Germania Inferior
- Iconography and epigraphy of goddess cults (Matronae)
- Artificial cranial deformation in Migration Period graves
- Digital archaeology and material culture studies
