Dr. Astrid Schepman is an Associate Professor in Experimental Psychology at the University of Chester, UK, affiliated with the Division of Psychology within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She holds administrative roles, including Research Excellence Framework (REF) Coordinator for Unit of Assessment 4. Her research focuses on attitudes toward AI, laterality, auditory processing, and mental health, supported by grants from The British Academy, Carnegie Trust, and others. She supervises three PhD students and teaches at MSc/undergraduate levels. Schepman is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and contributes to pedagogy projects like TeacherMatic. Her work spans over 40 peer-reviewed publications, with notable studies on human lateralization, AI ethics, and emotional processing.
