Astrid Möller is an Associate Professor of Ancient History at the University of Freiburg. She holds a PhD from Freie Universität Berlin (1990) and an MSt from the University of Oxford (1988). Her research focuses on ancient Greek economic history, historiography, chronography, and hermeneutics, including the analysis of fake documents.

Her research interests include the ethics of subsistence economies in ancient agrarian societies (e.g., Hesiod's Erga), gift-giving dynamics in Homeric epics, and ancient price formation mechanisms. She has also re-examined the historical and cultural significance of Naukratis in light of discoveries like Thonis-Heracleion.
Recent academic activities include lectures at EHESS and INHA in Paris in 2018, focusing on topics such as Hesiod's ethical norms, Homeric gift-exchange, and Greco-Egyptian trade networks.
