She collaborates extensively with international scholars, notably Susana Fernández and Martin Rogers, on projects analyzing migrant language learners, neoliberal policy impacts, and educator professional identity.
Her educational background includes a Ph.D., with publications spanning journals like Nordic Journal of Language Teaching and Learning, European Early Childhood Education Research Journal, and Social Sciences. She leads the "Danish in the Making" research project (2023–2026), exploring language policy and education systems.
Rasmussen’s work addresses pragmatic competence development in adult migrants, differentiation strategies in language teaching, and the role of reflection in educator training. She critiques neoliberal policies’ effects on early childhood educators’ job satisfaction and professional identity, advocating for contextualized, equitable practices.
Publications include analyses of language stratification in Danish secondary schools and reviews of pedagogical resources for language teachers. She actively contributes to policy debates through comparative international studies, emphasizing family involvement and quality assurance in early education.
