Anne Rasmussen

Anne Rasmussen is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen (Department of Political Science) and, since 2023, also Professor in the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London. She is a member of the executive board of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) and chairs its publication committee. Her career spans positions at Leiden University, University of Bergen, European University Institute, and George Washington University, among others.

Research Focus

Rasmussen’s research integrates the study of interest groups, public opinion, and political representation. She investigates how organised interests shape and are shaped by public preferences, how legislators perceive and respond to citizens and lobbyists, and how digital technologies alter advocacy and democratic engagement. Her current projects include an ERC Consolidator Grant on Advocacy in Digital Democracy and a Danish Research Council project on social media and representation.
