Astrid Deschamps-Dercheu serves as Professor at Sorbonne University's Faculty of Music and Musicology since 2013 in the PRAG (Professeur de Recherche et d'Enseignement de Grade) position, teaching aural training, writing, and vocal expression. She maintains dual affiliation with the Institute for Research in Musicology (IReMus/UMR 8223), a joint research unit of CNRS, Sorbonne University, and the French National Library.
Her academic foundation includes a Master of Musicology from Paris-Sorbonne University (2014) with thesis research on Female heroism in the musical tragedies of Campra and Danchet under Raphaëlle Legrand's supervision, complemented by an External Music Aggregation (2010) and specialized conservatory training.
Deschamps-Dercheu's research centers on historical musicology with emphasis on French Baroque opera, gender representation in musical narratives, and music-religion intersections. Her work integrates archival analysis with cultural studies to examine heroic archetypes in 18th-century French opera.
Her sole documented publication examines gendered heroism in Campra's operatic works, reflecting consistent scholarly engagement with French Baroque repertoire, theatrical conventions, and socio-historical contexts of musical tragedy.
Notable scientific awards include:

- Analysis Prize (2007)
- Orchestration Prize (2008)
- Gold Medal in Writing (2000)
