Astrid Camilla Wiig

Astrid Camilla Wiig is an Associate Professor in Pedagogy at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), affiliated with the Department of Educational Science within the Faculty of Humanities, Sports and Educational Science. Her research focuses on dialogic and sociocultural frameworks examining how digital tools transform learning and assessment practices in professional education. She leads USN's workpackage in the NFR-funded PROSIM project, investigating simulator-based training in maritime, health, and bioengineering education. Wiig also spearheads projects exploring vocational students' use of Augmented Reality (AR) in Kongsberg and co-leads the TRALAYA research group on youth transitions.

• Education: PhD in Educational Science (2019), thesis on knowledge transfer between informal/formal learning contexts.

Her teaching spans pedagogy courses for teacher trainees and maritime management students, including master's-level programs like 'Formal and Informal Learning Processes in Child and Youth Culture' and 'Teaching and Learning in Maritime Contexts'. She supervises students across bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels.

Notable projects include leading AR integration initiatives in vocational education (funded by USN Profession and RFF Viken) and serving as a pedagogical advisor for the DIKU-funded Centre of Excellence (COAST). Her work bridges youth culture studies with innovative educational technologies.
