Assia Soukane

Assia Soukane serves as Director of Research at ECE Paris School of Engineering, where she joined in 2012 as a lecturer-researcher in computer science. She leads the "Intelligent Communicating Systems" research axis since 2014 and oversees institutional research strategy to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

She holds a PhD in computer science from the DAVID laboratory at the University of Paris Saclay.

Her research centers on designing multi-source systems for heterogeneous environments, with recent work focusing on UAV path planning optimization, desert waste detection via drone imaging, and smartphone-based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). She develops hybrid algorithms like improved Manta Ray Foraging with Tabu Search to solve real-world smart city challenges in environmental monitoring and transportation.

As head of the "Intelligent Communicating Systems" research axis, she drives cross-disciplinary projects integrating computational intelligence with practical applications in sustainable urban development.
