معرفی
Dr. Assaf Pertzelan is a Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour, affiliated with the Max Planck Research Group Ding in Konstanz, Germany. His work focuses on understanding the behavioral strategies of animals, particularly fish larvae and worms, through interdisciplinary approaches combining computer science, marine biology, and mathematical modeling.
Education:
- PhD and M.Sc. in Marine Biology, Ben Gurion University of the Negev (2014–2023)
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1999–2002)
- Postdoc at the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences, University of Haifa (2023–2024)
Research Interests: Collective behavior, environmental risk assessment (e.g., oil spills), navigation strategies in aquatic organisms, and computational modeling of animal behavior. Current projects analyze individual and collective behaviors of worms using video tracking and mathematical frameworks, bridging computer science and ecology.
His affiliations include the Max Planck Institute's interdisciplinary environment, emphasizing quantitative approaches to animal behavior research.
