معرفی
Asimina Arvanitaki holds the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Aristarchus Chair in Theoretical Physics at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, where she has been a Research Faculty member since 2014. Her academic journey includes roles as a Research Associate at Stanford University (2013–2014) and postdoctoral fellowships at UC Berkeley, LBNL, and Stanford. She specializes in particle physics, focusing on unresolved questions like the nature of dark matter and dark energy, and explores novel experimental techniques to test theoretical models.
Her research interests span the Standard Model of particle physics, beyond-Standard-Model forces, neutrino physics, and cosmology. She actively bridges theoretical ideas with experimental advancements, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches to address fundamental questions in physics.
- Awards: 2024 Frontiers of Science Award, 2022 CAP-TRIUMF Vogt Medal, 2017 New Horizons in Physics Prize, and others.
- Grants: NSERC Discovery Grant, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Grant.
Arvanitaki advises students through the Perimeter Scholars International (PSI) program. Her work has led to groundbreaking studies on cosmic neutrino backgrounds, axion physics, and dark matter detection using tabletop experiments.
