Ashwin Arulselvan

Ashwin Arulselvan is a Senior Lecturer in Management Science at the University of Strathclyde since 2014. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida (2009) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Warwick (2009-2010) and Technische Universität Berlin (2010-2014). His expertise lies in combinatorial optimization, with a focus on network flow problems, integer programming, and approximation algorithms, extending to applications in satellite networks and blockchain systems.

His research has been recognized with awards including the 2023 Best Paper Award and a 2010 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. He teaches undergraduate and MSc courses at Strathclyde and has contributed to doctoral programs at the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Key projects include blockchain-based satellite consensus mechanisms, distributed ledger approaches to model-based systems engineering, and optimization in aerospace and telecommunication networks.
