Ashraf Abumousa is a PhD Researcher and Part-time Teaching Associate at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. His research focuses on humanitarian accountability in the digital age, particularly examining technocolonialism discourse in Palestine. He holds a Master of Development Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management (South Korea, 2017–2018) and a Master's in Accounting and Finance from the Islamic University of Gaza (Palestine, 2008). He was a Policy Leader Fellow at the European University Institute’s School of Transnational Governance (Italy, 2019).
His PhD project critically analyzes how digital technologies reshape humanitarian organizations' accountability patterns, addressing challenges like technocolonialism, data ethics, and power imbalances in former colonial contexts. Supervised by Prof. Yasmin Ibrahim, Prof. Stephen Fox, and Dr. Manuela Perrotta, his work contributes to the Organisational Processes and Practices Research Group (OPPRG).
Prior experience includes 17 years with Palestinian organizations, producing anti-corruption reports for Transparency International. His research bridges governance, digital transformation, and postcolonial critiques in humanitarian systems.
