Dr. Ashok Kakkar is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University. His interdisciplinary research develops nanomaterials for biomedical applications using dendrimers, miktoarm polymers, and metal nanoparticles.
Research focuses on:
- Design of multi-tasking nanocarriers for drug delivery
- Surface engineering of nanoparticles for biological interactions
- Polymer chemistry approaches to smart therapeutics
His laboratory has established collaborations with pharmacology and biomedical engineering groups to advance nanomedicine. Recent publications explore flavonoid therapeutics for glioblastoma, gas-releasing nanomaterials, and mRNA delivery platforms. Awards include the John Polanyi Award (2022) and Lady Davis Fellowship (2020).
