Ashmi Desai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at San Francisco State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Master’s in Development Communication from Gujarat University, India. Her research focuses on inclusive dialogue, intersectional identities, and meaningful communication across diverse contexts. Certified in dialogue facilitation and intercultural development, she has held senior roles at community organizations like the United Nations Association of Boulder County and Nothing But Nets.
