Dr. Ashley White Jones is an Instructional Assistant Professor of Public Health at the University of Mississippi's Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management. With a PhD in Health Promotion from University of Alabama and MPH from Jackson State University, her research examines health disparities in Black communities.
Jones focuses on culturally responsive mental health interventions and Black maternal health outcomes. Her recent work includes studies on the Jackson water crisis and COVID-19's disproportionate impact on minority communities. She serves as Research Advisor for Hurdle Health, developing teletherapy solutions for Black communities.
Prior to academia, Jones directed community health initiatives and consulted for the Mississippi State Department of Health on teen pregnancy prevention and minority health programs. Her methodological approach includes innovative qualitative techniques like found poetry analysis to explore healthcare experiences.
