Ashley Thiers

Ashley Thiers is a Clinical Instructor of Nursing at Berry College's Nursing Department, affiliated with the Nursing division at Chattanooga State Community College. She holds an MSN in Nursing Education (2018) and an MSN-MBA in Nursing Administration/Business Administration (2017) from Thomas University, an ASN from Darton State College (2012), and a Diploma in Practical Nursing from Georgia Northwestern Technical College (2009). She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Southern Adventist University, focusing on family nursing practice with emphases on improving quality outcomes for long-term care residents and refining policy delivery in skilled nursing.

Her teaching interests include Fundamental Nursing Care, Nursing Leadership, Care of Vulnerable Populations, and Death and Dying. Research priorities center on LEAN methodologies in skilled nursing, evidence-based education for nursing home staff, and enhancing care quality in long-term settings. She has received the Erlanger Chair of Excellence Award in both Pediatric and Adult Health Nursing.

Dr. Thiers aims to cultivate nursing students who deliver patient-centered care with empathy, compassion, and confidence. Her doctoral work seeks to bridge policy gaps and improve outcomes for aging populations through innovative healthcare practices.
