Ashley Shepherd is a Lecturer and Career Counselor in the College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston. She also serves as the Internship Coordinator for the college and is the staff advisor to the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality–Cougar Chapter.

Research & Teaching Focus: Shepherd’s work centers on career success strategies, student enrichment initiatives, and hands-on hospitality internships. She designs and delivers courses that integrate academic theory with practical industry experience, emphasizing resume development, interview preparation, and professional growth within the hospitality sector.
She currently teaches three experiential-learning courses: Beverage Management and Marketing Internship, Hospitality Internship, and the Management Training Work Experience Program. These offerings immerse students in real-world settings, fostering critical managerial competencies and expanding industry networks.
Service & Advising:
- Oversees all hospitality internships and coordinates placement logistics.
- Staff advisor to the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality–Cougar Chapter.
