Ashley Pistorio

Ashley Pistorio, MD, is an Associate Professor and Residency Program Director in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. With expertise in general plastic, burn, reconstructive, microvascular, and aesthetic surgery, she specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery, including peripheral nerve, trauma, arthritis, tumors, and congenital differences.

• Education: Medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine; Master’s in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.
• Training: Completed residencies in general surgery (University Medical Center/University of Nevada, Reno) and plastic surgery (University of Kansas), followed by hand surgery fellowships at WellSpan York Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
• Professional Roles: Board-certified in general, plastic, and hand/upper extremity surgery; serves on national committees for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Plastic Surgery Research Foundation, and American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
• Research: Focuses on upper extremity and peripheral nerve surgery; authored peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and led a multicenter clinical trial.
• Experience: Prior decade-long research career at U.S. Army Institute of Chemical Defense and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Department of Biomedical Engineering.
