Ashley Morgan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Forensic Science Department at the University of New Haven's Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice with a Forensic Science Specialization from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and has academic credentials including an M.Phil. in Criminal Justice and an M.S. in Forensic Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Her research focuses on developing and optimizing DNA sampling and extraction methods from difficult substrates, such as discharged cartridge cases, paper, fabrics, and skeletal remains. This work has practical applications in forensic casework, including sexual assault, homicide, and firearm-related investigations. She has testified in both grand juries and jury trials in New York and North Carolina.
