Ashley Marie Shaw, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of New England's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She is also a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Maine and Florida. Her research focuses on increasing access to evidence-based treatments like CBT and DBT for emotional disorders in children and adults, with an emphasis on technology-driven solutions and community dissemination. Dr. Shaw previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida International University and Visiting Assistant Professor at Bowdoin College.
Education: B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from University of Miami. Postdoctoral training included a two-year fellowship at UM and clinical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Research Interests: Reducing barriers to mental health care through telehealth, transdiagnostic approaches to anxiety/depression/OCD/PTSD, and implementation science for diverse providers. Active in studying DBT-A virtual programs and caregiver engagement strategies.
Professional Activities: Director of MINT Anxiety Program and MINT DBT-A Program (FIU), contributor to podcasts on eco-anxiety, and advocate for technology-enhanced mental health access.
