Ashley Hetaraka

Ashley Hetaraka is a Lecturer and High Achieving Teachers Program Coordinator at the South West Campus of Edith Cowan University's School of Education. She holds a Master of Education (2011) from the University of Wollongong and is currently completing a PhD in Education. With 15 years of experience in teaching and leadership, her career includes roles such as Level 3 Classroom Teacher, Head of Learning Area, and Associate Principal, emphasizing student achievement and staff development.

Her research focuses on Spatial Reasoning, Mathematics, and STEM Education, with a passion for promoting Women in STEM. She teaches courses such as EDL1250 Learners and Learning and EDU1350 Child and Adolescent Learners. Ashley has received notable awards, including the Global Teacher Prize Top 50 Awardee (2020) and the CHOOSEMATHS Mentoring Girls in Maths Award (2017).
