Ashley Dumas serves as Director of the University Counseling Center and adjunct faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Lipscomb University. She returned to Lipscomb in August 2020 after previously serving eight years as Director of Disability Services and therapist. Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee, she holds dual recognition from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor’s in Psychology and Vocational Ministry from Harding University
- Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University
Dr. Dumas specializes in evidence-based Marriage and Family Therapy with clinical expertise spanning women’s issues, life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship counseling. Her integrative approach combines systemic frameworks with practical interventions to address complex mental health challenges across diverse populations.

In her dual roles, Ashley Dumas provides direct clinical services while supervising graduate student interns and teaching in the Marriage and Family Therapy program. She bridges administrative leadership with hands-on therapeutic practice to support student mental health.
As Counseling Center Director, she leads a multidisciplinary clinical team focused on creating a proactive mental health ecosystem for the Lipscomb University community through prevention, intervention, and wellness programming.
