Ashley Clayton is a Researcher at Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, serving as Research Manager of the Family Violence Research Program in the Sullivan Lab. She holds an MA in Community Psychology from the University of New Haven (2011) and a BA in Psychology from Georgetown College (2009). Her work focuses on community-based mental health interventions, stigma reduction, and healthcare access for vulnerable populations.
Key research interests include maternal mental health, recovery-oriented care, and the social inclusion of individuals with severe mental illness. She has published extensively on mental health during the pandemic, telemental health, and structural barriers to healthcare access. Clayton is also the Visual Arts Editor of The Perch, a journal by Yale’s Program for Recovery & Community Health.
Notable awards include the 2023 Outstanding Staff Award (Yale School of Medicine) and 2022 Employee of the Year (The Consultation Center). Her collaborative work spans projects on violence prevention, citizenship interventions for individuals with mental illness, and peer support programs for jail-reentry populations.
