Ashley Adamson is a Professor in Public Health Nutrition at Newcastle University and leads the Public Health Nutrition Research team within the Human Nutrition Research Centre. She also oversees the Public Health Improvement theme at the Institute of Health and Society.

Her research explores the interplay between food environments, dietary choices, nutrient intake, physical activity, individual and socio-demographic characteristics, and health outcomes across the life course, with a focus on children, families, and young people.
She was awarded a Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health in 2011 and an NIHR Research Professorship in 2012. Her work emphasizes translational research to bridge public health policy and practice.
