Ashley A. Montgomery-Yates

Ashley A. Montgomery-Yates, MD serves as Associate Professor of Medicine and Senior Vice Chair for Healthcare Strategy and Implementation within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She directs the ICU Recovery Clinic and maintains dual affiliations in Pulmonary Medicine and the Pulmonary Fellowship program.

Dr. Montgomery-Yates completed her medical degree, Internal Medicine residency, and Critical Care Medicine fellowship entirely at the University of Kentucky. Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, her clinical expertise spans pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine with specialized focus on post-ICU recovery.

Her research concentrates on critical care survivorship, addressing long-term physical, cognitive, and psychological sequelae in ICU patients through the ICU Recovery Clinic. This work integrates pulmonary rehabilitation, neuropsychological support, and longitudinal care models for post-intensive care syndrome.

As Senior Vice Chair for Healthcare Strategy, she leads system-level implementation of clinical pathways and quality improvement initiatives across UK HealthCare's internal medicine services. Her leadership extends to fellowship program development and medical education within the College of Medicine.
