Dr. Ashish Sedai is Assistant Professor of Economics at UT Arlington. PhD from Colorado State University specializing in labor, gender, and development economics. Awarded Warren Samuel's Prize (2022) for gendered analysis of water access impacts in India. Consultant for Asian Development Bank and World Bank.
Research examines household welfare at intersection of:
- Financial inclusion and gender violence reduction
- Electrification and women's autonomy
- Unpaid care work economics
- Environmental governance
Authored 20+ publications in World Development, Energy Economics, and Journal of Economic Behavior. Leads research projects on time-use in South Asia funded by ADB.
